At university, I found a real treasure – my wife. We were in the same group, became fast friends, and then I decided to ask her out. We often went for walks, went to discos together, watched movies, and in our last year of study, we had a logical continuation. We started living together in a rented apartment. I could not even think that something could go wrong, because we were in love!
After a while, Maria told me she was pregnant, and although we were still studying, I felt really happy with the news. A month later we got married, and my parents fully supported us, so it seemed like life was great.
The birth happened after our graduation. And that’s when everything went wrong. The labor was very difficult, and afterwards Maria had serious complications, so she died the same day. She left behind our little healthy daughter. I could not get over my grief for a long time, because it was impossible to believe that I would not see her smile and hug her. She, like no one else, deserved a long and happy life!
We recently celebrated our Monica’s birthday. She was one year old, and looking at her, I recognize my Maria in her more and more and think that she left me a real angel. I still haven’t recovered from my grief, I can’t stop thinking about her, but I know that I have something to live for. I have to give my daughter the best, because that’s what her mother wanted. She should be proud of us.
I am telling you this because I want to remind you that we never know when we will lose our loved ones, so we need to appreciate every moment we have together!
