– Our Bella is a lazy girl. She does not want to do anything. She does not work anywhere, but only goes shopping. I do not know where she gets money, because she is always dressed up. And where were Alex’s eyes when he married her? At least he could help me with the garden. It is good that our local men are kind, they help me in everything and do not take money. And Alex has become completely lazy since he went to the city – Monica complained to neighbors.
And the neighbors felt sorry for Monica. Alex rarely comes, you can say “never”. Well, sometimes he comes with his young wife. He does not want to do anything himself, he arranges with the locals to plow the garden, plant potatoes, and then huddle them. Or some other work was done. But he does not want to do anything, he is too lazy. And Bella, his wife, will come all dressed up, bringing presents, smiling. And she is always talking on the phone. And Monica has to do all the work herself.
And Bella is lazy because she owns her own business. She has a beauty salon, atelier and clothing store. She is like a squirrel in a wheel all day long, without holidays and weekends. Even if there is a weekend, they go to their mother-in-law in the village. Bella treats her mother-in-law well, respects her for her hard work, and feels sorry for her that she is very tired and does not give herself a rest. No matter how much she was told to plant a little “for the soul”, she still plants the whole plot. And it is 30 hectares.
We offered her to somehow make a recreation area on one half of the plot with a gazebo, barbecue, swing, pool, flower beds, benches, but she flatly refused. She said that the land was needed to cultivate it, and not all that. They never returned to this topic again, as they say: “Every man for himself”.
And the idler Alex works as a programmer. He manages several organizations remotely, with occasional on-site visits. Only for his mother it is not a profession, but a prank. With his “tricks” he made his mother’s dream come true by making an attic floor with a window on the roof.
He offered his mother to plant less in order to throw away less rotten vegetables in the spring, but his mother did not listen to him at all. The land must be cultivated. Well, it is necessary, so it is necessary. He agreed with local men to do the work that his mother needed, and he would pay for it. It’s good for the locals, at least some work; and it’s good for Alex that he will worry less about his mother. After all, she is his mother.
And so by the weekend Alex and Bella will get some presents that are not available in the village, and come to visit their mother. At the same time, they want to check how the local men helped their mother in the household and pay them for their work. Bella helps around the house, and Alex with the farm. But they do nothing in the garden. Because they are lazy.
