Nick and Maria loved extreme sports. They were riding a motorcycle together, forgetting about everything. Once Nick accelerated so much that he got into an accident. He was immediately taken to the hospital, he was in intensive care for several days. Maria came to the hospital every day and waited for the results. The doctor said that Nick has many fractures, but the most dangerous is his spine. Now Nick is confined to a wheelchair and needs special care.
Maria was willing to do anything to get her loved one back on his feet. She took Nick to a one-room apartment. The girl began to work hard, took part-time jobs to cover all the expenses for Nick’s maintenance. She bought him a special mattress, walker, wheelchair, exercise equipment, many medicines, paid for massages.
To make it easier for Nick to stay home alone all day while Maria works, she hired a nurse. The nurse was a lovely woman, a little older than Maria. After her visits Nick just shone with happiness, and Maria was glad that the boy was getting better.
When Nick was fully on his feet, he told Maria that he was leaving her:
– You must understand, I fell in love with this nurse with all my heart. I can’t do otherwise.
– And what about us? I thought we would have a family, that we would always be together.
– Maria, only you thought that.
At that time Maria’s parents arrived. They saw the broken state of their daughter, but Maria was silent for a long time. Then she finally could not stand it and told her mother everything as it is.
– The time and care you gave him can never be returned. But we can return the money you spent. You worked around the clock, tortured yourself, my father and I also sent money. And you kept him for a whole year, and even bought expensive medicines and equipment for him. He just took advantage and left.
Maria’s mother called Nick, and he just laughed into the phone to his mother-in-law, who never became a mother-in-law.
– So, we will solve everything in court – the mother decided.
At the trial, Nick resisted as best he could:
– Have good deeds already been canceled? She helped of her own free will.
– And you willingly received this help. Now Maria is a stranger to you. The court decides that Nick is obliged to pay the entire amount spent to Maria.
